About Us…

Here is a brief history of our firm.

Project Management Group Limited (PMG) is primarily a roof consulting firm that operates within the commercial, industrial, institutional, government and property management  sectors. When requested by our clients we have also acted as Project Managers in overseeing roofing projects and building envelope repairs encompassing masonry, sealants  as well as cladding repair and/or restoration.

PMG was created by two principals or partners and these two individuals performed all aspects of the roof consulting service for our clients.  No roof consulting work is handed off to “juniors” or is it ever sub-contracted to outside consultants.

PMG’s President is Peter Skillins. He has been in the commercial roofing industry since 1981 after graduating from Ryerson in Toronto from the Civil Engineering Technology program.  He has worked as a commercial roofing contractor estimator, an Engineering Services Representative with Tremco’s Roofing Division, as a partner in a commercial roofing contractor (10 years) and as a Roof Consultant and Project Manager for the last 21 years with PMG.

PMG’s Vice-President was Michael Menecola. He had been in the commercial roofing industry since 1988. He worked with Garland Canada’s roofing division as a Technical Representative.  After leaving there he ran his own roof consulting firm for three years and joined forces with Peter Skillins to create
Project Management Group Limited in 1998.  Michael Menecola left PMG in 2013 but has since returned to work with us.

The principals at PMG have been on every kind of roof system used in the commercial roofing field and they have worked on thousands of flat roof projects over the past 38 years.

PMG can assess and recommend the proper solution for your roofing needs whether it is roof maintenance or replacement.  Not all roofs have to be replaced and many can be maintained with proper guidance.

We have no affiliations with any materials manufacturer or with any roofing contractors and as such can provide our clients with the most unbiased solutions with both materials components and recommendations for bidders. This approach allows for the most cost efficient and desirable solutions to all roof and building envelope issues.

PMG can perform all roof asset management processes from pre–budgeting evaluations, pre-purchase and post purchase audits,  initial planning/development inspections and cost estimates, we can handle all facets of a roof project from specification development & preparation to Tender Package preparation to project contract administration to roof work in progress inspections and finally to project close out.

PMG maintains a 24 hour 7 days per week emergency line for any roofing or building envelope emergency needs such as leaks or wind storm blow offs.
